Project Amber – Step One Completed

The CCEE is coming up in April and I’m gonna be hitting the event as Amber of Sucker Punch!

Now I want to this costume to be 100% wearable for a full day (8+ hours) and to be as authentic as I can make it.

Mission 1: Collect all relevant data on target. 

I have now collected over twenty high quality images of this Sucker Punch costume. Each image is a different POV, detailing every fabric used, seam stitched, and accessory created to make the perfect look.

When examining each picture carefully, I realized that I may have bitten off more than I can chew. The costume work on the original is insane!!

Michael Wilkinson, Amber’s costumer, put so much detail into her outfit that I get dizzy trying to follow where the seams and fabrics begin and end.

I’ve decided to start the costume making process with the accessories – the belt, body harness, and weapon/ammo holders. Off to the sketching board to find out how much leather I’ll be needing for these accessories!!
